Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for this qualification is completion of the following units of competency, from the core components of the Diploma in Financial Planning or their equivalent from a previous version of the FNS15 Training Package. These units are:

  • FNSFPL501 Comply with financial planning practice ethical and operational guidelines and regulations
  • FNSFPL502 Conduct financial planning analysis and research
  • FNSFPL503 Develop and prepare financial plan
  • FNSFPL504 Implement financial plan
  • FNSFPL505 Review financial plans and provide ongoing service
  • FNSASICZ503* Provide advice in financial planning (this unit has pre-requisites all the above units)
  • FNSFPL506 Determine client financial requirements and expectations
  • FNSINC401 Apply principles of professional practice to work in the financial services industry

These entry requirements can be met by completing the FNS50615 Diploma of Financial Planning with the Australian Professional Education Institute, our college.

The entry requirements can be also met by evidence of equivalent competency to the above units demonstrated through recognition of prior learning (RPL).

International students must:

  • Be of a minimum of 18 years of age, and
  • Have completed Diploma of Financial Planning or equivalent, and
  • Provide evidence of English Level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (If the level of English is insufficient, a suitable course can be arranged.

Assessment Methods

A range of assessment and evidence gathering methods and techniques are used including 2 – 4 or more methods for each unit of competency. For this course, methods include:

  • Written questions and tests
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Case studies
  • Projects, assignments and research tasks
  • Role plays, simulations and presentations

Pathways from the qualification

A further learning pathway could be studies in relevant higher education programs. Students should establish relevant qualifications and any credit arrangements that may apply in order to make appropriate elective choices in this qualification.
