For Real Estate professionals in NSW and VIC, the NSW Fair Trading organization under the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act 2002 requires license and certificate holders to complete 12 CPD points per year and a condition before renewing their registration license.
This ensures compliance with updated industry legislation and assurance of quality to the consumers.
The point entitlements are as follows; A certificate and licensee holder is entitled to the following CPD credits.
· Learning category 1: one point per hour (maximum of four points each year).
· Learning category 2: withdrawn.
· Learning category 3: three points per hour.
Training providers
The CPD must be provided by organizations that are qualified to offer the training to be covered. Training providers should have the state training accreditation for the property agency industry or specialist industry expertise.
Non Compliance
Failure to complete the CPD may result in the refusal of an application for renewal license or certificate of registration under section 15(4) of the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act 2002.
The Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating are a registered training organization in NSW that is accredited to provide CPD for the property agency industry.
