SIIT MILESTONES

2018

Launch of TIIS — For Today, For Tomorrow

  1. The Institute of International Studies (TIIS), which was approved as a private higher education provider in October 2017 by The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), is launched. TIIS was created with the ideal to create qualifications combining languages, culture and business management skills to meet the needs of tomorrow.
  2. SIIT and TIIS are both committed to producing high quality, professionally oriented and work ready graduates.
  3. Advanced Diploma of Intepreting Mandarin is added to course list of SIIT Melbourne and Brisbane Campus.
  4. New SIIT Website is launched.

2017

New Qualifications Added to Registration

  • To meet the needs of industries and communities, additional qualifications in financial planning, real estate, leadership and management, travel and tourism were added to the scope of its registration.
  • Cantonese, Hindi, Punjabi, Vietnamese Diploma of Interpreting are added to SIIT Melbourne campus course list.

2016

SIIT Melbourne campus was established

To meet the demand of future business development, SIIT Melbourne is established. The first qualifications include Diploma of Interpreting Mandarin and Advanced Diploma of Translating English into Chinese.

2013

SIIT Brisbane campus was established

The first courses include Diploma of Interpreting Mandarin and Advanced Diploma of Translating English <-> Chinese.

Preparation of Higher Education — TIIS

From 2013, Marshall WEI has been working with a group of professionals in the preparation of its higher education provider, The Institute of International Studies (TIIS).

2009~2012

More Languages Added to Registration of Sydney Campus

Marshall WEI has been acting as the Course Coordinator of SIIT from 2009 till present.

Since 2009, SIIT has been delivering relevant interpreting and translating qualifications across 7 different language streams ranging from Chinese (Mandarin), Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Hindi, Punjabi, Nepalese.

More than 10 thousands qualified interpreters and translators across a variety of language steams have graduated from SIIT, and are currently working in a range of industries across the globe, serving the needs of their communities.

Establishment of Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating

Australian Professional Education Institute Pty Ltd trading as Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating (SIIT) was established as a registered training organization in April 2009.

The growing “ever-smaller” global village, where exchanges of information across languages and cultures now occur across all spheres of human society, leads to an increasing demand for the services of professional interpreters and translators.

SIIT was established for the purpose of training qualified interpreters and translators across a variety of language streams. SIIT continues to be dedicated to this mission of producing professional interpreters and translators.
